On Thursday 2nd March at Red Lion PR London office, the Taylor Bennett Foundation attended the ‘The Year to Thrive’ fundraising event with guest speaker and author, Samara Linton. The event was in aid of the Taylor Bennett Foundation to continue supporting young people from ethnic communities to progress in PR and communications.

The evening kicked off with a welcome speech from the Taylor Bennett Foundation’s Chief Executive, Melissa Lawrence before the panel discussion with Samara. Samara Linton is the author of ‘The Colour of Madness: Mental Health and Race in Technicolour’ written according to her own personable and shared experiences among others in the workplace facing anxiety.

Hosting the discussion were Red Lion PR’s Hannah Sackey and Lily Collins. Dissecting her stunning piece with the audience, Samara introduced everyone to the scientific colours associated with our moods and the challenges often faced meandering through industries. The importance of managing boundaries in the workplace was advised to maintain a healthy mind and work-life balance. All audience members took home a free copy of the book and won exceptional prizes worth £300 via raffle tickets.

Altogether Red Lion PR and the Taylor Bennett Foundation raised £1,510.00 through online ticket and raffle sales, and donations from drinks on the night. Many thanks to all for the donations and fantastic turn out on the night.
