Candidates Programmes Training Training Introduction to the Taylor Bennett Foundation PR & Communications Training Programme The Taylor Bennett Foundation's award-winning PR Training Programme is a full-time training course in Public Relations (PR) and Communications designed to equip participants with the relevant knowledge, insights and skills to work in the PR and communications industry. Our training programme is designed to directly address the need for greater ethnic diversity in the Public Relations (PR) and Communications industry and is open to graduates from a Black, Asian and minority ethnic background to apply. There are a number of training programmes that run each year, each programme has a different partner. Our current programme partners are: Brunswick Group, FGS Global, FTI Consulting and HSBC UK. What is the PR Training programme? The Taylor Bennett Foundation (TBF) PR Training programme is a paid, in-person, 8-week intensive PR and Communications training programme. The training programme will include: Strategic Communications workshops including: An Introduction to Financial Communications People & Transformation ESG & Sustainability Investor Relations and Media Relations Public Affairs Issues and Crisis Communications Employability sessions to help you plan your future in the communications industry Tailored English tuition session to boost your writing skills Present campaigns and research topics to a variety of audiences Writing tasks – including analysis, data evaluation, reports as well as media summaries, press releases and blogs Masterclasses: weekly masterclasses are held with a variety of agencies and in-house communication teams Training courses via the CIPR and PRCA The traineeships are paid. The training allowance is equivalent to your age and the National Minimum Wage + up to a Zone 1-3 travelcard in London*. *Travel expenses will only be reimbursed if in-person travel is required. What will I gain from the training programme? Throughout the programme you will build an understanding of: The world of business, and how this intersects with politics, media and social issues The role of communications in enabling successful business The role of a consultant - bringing knowledge, experience and an ‘outside view’ to clients; The training programme will help you to develop a number of professional skills, including: Research, analysis and critical thinking; How to write clearly, concisely and convincingly; How to use creative and visual tools to convey your message with impact; How to deliver advice in a meeting, on the phone, and via electronic communications; Message development - how to identify, shape and ‘sell’ your story; The value of listening, challenging constructively and responding to the views of others to work towards consensus and a clear way forward; How to manage your own reputation and develop your own professional style; What are we looking for? Excellent communication skills Clear interest in the PR and Communications industry Eligibility You must be from a Black, Asian and minority ethnic background. You must be a graduate or graduated within the last three years. We accept applications from graduates who have studied any subject. You must be strongly interested in pursuing a career in Public Relations (PR) and communications. You must be a British national or have an immigration status that allows you to be employed in the UK at the end of the programme. You must be able to commit to the full hybrid programme.
